Lasagna Recipe An Italian dish finding its roots in the culturally rich city of Naples, the first lasagna recipe can be found ascribed in the Liber de Coquina or the Book of Eateries dated back to the 14th century. However, there is one theory that credits its origin to Ancient Greece where the word ‘Laganon’ was used to refer to the first form of pasta. Originally, lasagna did not even refer to the food, instead it meant chamber pot. Despite its disputed origin, lasagna is one of the most popular dishes in the world to the point that it is renown as the favorite dish of the lovable comic cartoon Garfield.

As we approach Lasagna Day occurring on July 29th we will tell you a lasagna recipe to satisfy all your cravings. We shall bear the mantle of responsibility to fulfil all your cheesy lasagna fantasies with the utmost seasoning required of us. The lasagna recipe we describe is a loose interpretation of the original recipe but nonetheless delicious.
To start, take one whole chicken breast piece boneless and after cleaning it, cut it into small cubes. Now take 5-6 garlic cloves, depending on your taste and sauté them in 2-3 tbs oil. As soon as their color turns light to medium brown, add the pre-cut chicken cubes and sauté them both together.

Now add 1 teaspoon salt, half teaspoon of red chilies, half a teaspoon of chili flakes if a more spicy dish appeals to you. Now add one fourth teaspoon oregano and a pinch of thyme. Mix it well and add a full packet of corns, half cup carrots and capsicums finely chopped. Top it off with 4-5 tablespoons of ketchup and two tablespoons of soya sauce. Mix it all well on medium heat and take it off.

While you make the chicken batter for the lasagna recipe, boil the lasagna sheet for 10-12 minutes. Now to make the white sauce.

For the white sauce, heat 3 tablespoons of butter and mix it with an equal amount of white flour. Put this mixture on simmer or take it off the heat and gradually pour one cup of milk. Now add half a cup of chicken broth and season it with half a teaspoon pepper, half a teaspoon Chinese salt, our fourth teaspoon oregano and salt according to taste. The salt must be added in very small quantities because cheese itself adds a lot of salt to the mixture. Top off the white sauce with two slices of cheese and mix the ingredients until the white sauce is medium thick.

Now we put all the ingredients together to bake. Take an oven-proof dish and pour in a thin layer of white sauce to coat the bottom. Now add three to four sheets of lasagna and layer the spiced chicken mixture. Add some shredded mozzarella cheese and then re-layer it with three to four lasagna strips. Add more chicken batter and add white sauce in the layer to make the lasagna soft. Now add the final layers of lasagna strips on top and lather it in the remaining white sauce. Now garnish the lasagna in cheddar and mozzarella cheese and bake it for 15-20 minutes at 220o Centrigrade.

When the upper layer is suitably brown, take out the piping hot lasagna and enjoy. This lasagna recipe is very quick and easy to make and serves up a delicious serving for at least 7 people.
